Board of Directors
Geraldine Butler Managing Director
I have been fortunate to have had a leadership role within Values in Care since it was established in 2003. I am both personally and professionally committed to meeting the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. My experience prior to joining Values in Care was working within both the NHS and Local Authority Bodies in designing, commissioning and developing services for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, spanning over 20 years. During that time I had some very positive experiences of service development and some not so positive; the challenge is to learn from both and to put that learning into developing person centred pro-active services where each person can experience positive and meaningful outcomes.
I am supported in achieving this by our Senior Management Team and our competent workforce.
Linda Newton Clinical Director
I joined Values in Care’s Senior Management Team in October 2009 having worked previous to this for over 30 years in a variety of settings in both health and independent sectors.
Following achieving my registered nurse status I went on to achieve my Masters Degree in “Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour” working as a Behavioural Specialist with Cardiff & the Vale NHS Trust and Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust for over10 years. I am passionate and fully committed to working with individuals who display challenging behaviour and those supporting them to achieve positive outcomes in terms of reducing behaviours that prevent them from enjoying meaningful lives.
In 2011 I undertook my Post Graduate Diploma in Aspergers syndrome. I am supported in my clinical role by an Assistant Behavioural Specialist, five Positive Behaviour Management trainers, a TEACCH co-ordinator and two Holistic therapists.
